Proud to call Christchurch home
Did you know that Christchurch is New Zealand’s most liveable city?
It certainly seems that 2018 has been a good year for Christchurch, and a recent Quality of Life survey done by research company Nielsen for the country’s eight biggest city councils, showed 84 per cent of people in Christchurch considered their quality of life good, very good or extremely good – up from 78 per cent in the last survey two years ago.
Christchurch certainly has its fair share of shiny new buildings to visit. Boasting brand new architecture alongside heritage buildings, the country’s newest library, an internationally acclaimed children’s playground, a reinvigorated retail precinct and burgeoning hospitality sector.
We enjoy a low cost of living, fantastic transport links, and we also have great connectivity nationally and internationally. Christchurch enjoys a shorter average daily commute time that other urban centres throughout New Zealand such as Wellington and Auckland.
Residential housing affordability, (based on Infometrics data) in Christchurch rates extremely well when compared to other major cities; which is great news for renters, as well as first time home buyers, or those looking to explore a move up the property ladder.
More residents of Christchurch than any other city named lifestyle as the main reason for the city’s good quality of life. Residents were also the most likely to list health and wellbeing and relationships as positive aspects of Christchurch life. And can you believe this is all in addition to being on the doorstep to the stunning South Island?! All of these amazing lifestyle, economic and social advantages of being New Zealand’s second largest city makes us proud to call Christchurch home!
