Monthly Market Update - March 2018
The announcement of the Harcourts top office consultants for the month of March heralds the end of a busy financial business year within Harcourts offices in Christchurch and around Canterbury.
While there’s been a lot of talk about what’s happening in the market nationally, with plenty of speculation about what has, is or maybe about to happen. The reality is that Canterbury as a whole has settled into a “steady as she goes” market for Harcourts offices and sales consultants. The post-earthquake rush has passed, and we have returned to what we would describe as a typical market for the region.
When we compare Harcourts’ financial year-end figures for March 2018 to the same period in 2017 we see a slight drop (of less than 8%) in the total number of listings and a corresponding drop of around 8% in the total number of sales. That is hardly a staggering down-turn.
All-in-all the market has been very steady across our region this past financial year, and our consultants have needed to remain focused, disciplined and committed to achieve such strong sales results for our clients, in the face of perceived market conditions.
The end of the financial year also means that at Harcourts we head into our year-end awards season. This is an important period for our offices and consultants when they are officially recognised for their incredible work and consistently high performance getting the best results for clients over the past 12 months and to be acknowledged as some of the best in the industry.
Congratulations to our top office consultants for March and good luck to all Harcourts consultants and offices in the run up to the Harcourts end of year awards.
